Mankato Music Entrepreneur Crowdfunds to Pay Tuition to Work with Shark Tank Star's Team

Daymond John

(Minneapolis, MN) A local Mankato entrepreneur, journalist and small business marketer is appealing to Minnesota small businesses for help funding tuition for Daymond John's Launch Academy. John is the founder of the brand FUBU and a star on the hit television series, Shark Tank.

One of John's instructors led a presentation last week at the Event Center of the Courtyard by Marriot Hotel told a room of barely 40 people that they were testing the Mankato area market and they will likely "never be back" due to the low turnout. He said they are used to crowds of around 700 people in attendance. This means there is a very small window of opportunity for anyone in the area who wants to make it through his program to even attend it. The instructor warned that out of 50,000 annual applicants to the Shark Tank show, only around 100 people make it on. Additionally, out of the 20,000 free invitations to this seminar, only a mere 40 or 50 people showed up. Out of that group, only a few, if that, will actually launch their company through Launch Academy.

Those in attendance were able to get some insight into how John's team at Launch Academy works and how they can help entrepreneurs get funded. One of those in attendance launched an IndieGogo campaign in hopes of raising enough money for paying the reduced tuition for the 3-day workshop in Minneapolis at the Hyatt. He is offering small businesses a customized blog site with five posts and sharing on social media in exchange for $100 to go toward raising the $2,000 tuition price for working with John's team. The local Minnesota campaign is only running today and the chance to get this offer will end tonight just before midnight, so if your business wants to take part they will need to act fast. The entrepreuer from the event would like to launch of state-of-the-art music service online, a market with billions of potential revenue.

Crowdfunding projects has become a very popular way for people to raise money for all sorts of things like getting a studio music album produced to launching the next large technology project. To learn more about the crowd funding effort of this particular popular Minnesota blogger, go to
